Ethereum (ETH) Price Prediction: Coinbase Premium Recovers as $2,550 Breakout Puts $3,000 Back in Focus

Ethereum is trading near $2,470 after climbing around 0.08% over the past 24 hours, according to Brave New Coin data. The latest pullback has kept ETH below the $2,500-$2,550 resistance area, but buyers continue to defend the broader $2,400-$2,430 support region.

The technical picture now revolves around whether Ethereum can absorb another test of $2,550. A strong weekly close above this level could bring $2,600-$2,700 into focus before the larger $3,000 target becomes relevant. At the same time, a recovering Coinbase Premium suggests U.S.-based demand is improving following the latest dip.

Ethereum Coinbase Premium Posts Recovery

Ethereum saw a sharp intraday drop towards the $2,440 region before buyers quickly stepped back in. Price recovered towards $2,490, while the Coinbase Premium simultaneously began improving from deeply negative readings.

The shift was highlighted by Ted Pillows, who pointed to the sudden recovery in the Coinbase Ethereum Premium as evidence of stronger U.S. buying during the dip.

  • The premium recovered from roughly -0.05% to -0.026%.
  • ETH rebounded from around $2,440 towards $2,490 during the same period.

Although the premium remains slightly negative, the rebound shows that the gap between Coinbase and offshore pricing is narrowing. This development would become more meaningful if the premium continues improving while ETH holds above $2,400.

A move towards neutral or positive territory, combined with a price reclaim of $2,500–$2,550, would provide a stronger signal that spot demand is supporting the next recovery attempt.

$2,550 Remains the Breakout Level for $3,000

Ethereum price is once again approaching one of the most important resistance levels on its higher-timeframe chart. The $2,550 region has repeatedly capped recovery attempts and remains the immediate level bulls need to turn into support.

In another chart from crypto analyst Ted Pillows, one strong weekly close above $2,550 could be enough to open a larger move towards $3,000. The ETH price chart also places the next major resistance zone around $2,800, meaning ETH would likely need to work through that area before a full test of $3,000.

On the downside, the same setup identifies support around $2,185, followed by another major zone near $1,955 if a deeper correction develops. For now, however, ETH remains much closer to the breakout level than those lower supports, keeping $2,550 as the main technical trigger.

ETH Range Keeps $2,400-$2,430 Support in Play

The four-hour chart shows Ethereum trading inside a well-defined range after its latest recovery. Resistance remains concentrated around $2,520-$2,540, while buyers have repeatedly responded around the $2,400-$2,430 demand zone. The setup shared by Eliz leaves room for another sweep of the lower range before ETH attempts a breakout. A controlled move into $2,400-$2,430 followed by a reclaim could provide the base for another push through $2,520 and towards $2,560-$2,600.

However, repeated failure around the upper boundary would keep ETH trapped in consolidation. A decisive loss of $2,400 would weaken the current setup and place the deeper $2,350 region back in focus.

Contrary View: Liquidity Sweep Could Come Before $3,000

Ethereum’s broader structure still leans bullish, but the current price action resembles a possible fractal from the earlier $1,800-$2,400 range. In that previous structure, ETH spent time consolidating around resistance before eventually breaking higher. The current setup near $2,400-$2,500 is beginning to show a similar pattern, which keeps the larger $3,000 target in play.

The alternative path highlighted by Carl Moon is a short-term manipulation move first. ETH could briefly sweep below the $2,400 range support, trap late shorts, and then reclaim the level before pushing higher. Such a move would not necessarily damage the bullish fractal as long as price quickly recovers back above the former breakout area.

If the fractal continues to play out, a reclaim after any downside sweep followed by a break above $2,550 could trigger the next expansion towards $2,700-$2,800 and potentially $3,000.

Outlook: What Next for Ethereum Price?

Ethereum is currently positioned between a clearly defended support region and resistance that has already rejected several breakout attempts. The $2,400-$2,430 area remains the main short-term base, while $2,500-$2,550 continues to separate consolidation from another expansion.

A weekly close above $2,550 would provide the strongest confirmation for bulls and could shift attention towards $2,600-$2,700, followed by $2,800 and eventually $3,000. Improving Coinbase Premium readings would add further weight to that scenario if they continue alongside rising price.

If ETH instead loses $2,400, the current range would begin breaking down, and $2,350 would become the first downside level to watch. For now, Ethereum has not confirmed either extreme, leaving $2,400 support and $2,550 resistance as the two levels most likely to define its next larger move.
