Gemini Targets Apex’s Brokerage Network

Under the proposed arrangement, brokerages using Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) would route crypto event contracts to Gemini Titan for execution and clearing.

That would make it easier for Gemini to distribute without having to duplicate brokers’ crypto prediction market infrastructure. The setup would make it easier to add regulated event contracts to existing financial products for Apex clients.

The agreement is still a work in progress. Each one said it is looking forward to filling out the specifics of the strategic partnership in the coming weeks.

The collaboration also involves the possibility to work on other categories of events like in sports, economic data and financial markets. Those would not be exclusive areas of Gemini, as is the case with crypto contracts.

CFTC Licenses Support Gemini’s Prediction Push

In December 2025, Gemini Titan received a Designated Contract Market (DCM) license from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Upon the approval, the framework was laid out for the Gemini prediction-market platform.

Just a couple of months ago, in April 2026, Gemini did it again by receiving permission by its subsidiary, Gemini Olympus, to function as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO).

The combination enables Gemini to operate both trading and clearing in regulated derivatives. This is a key feature of the proposed Apex partnership, where crypto events will be conducted at Gemini Titan.

Within its overall trading approach, Gemini is taking a strategic approach to prediction markets. Contractual binding based on reality and outcome can become a significant financial market in addition to traditional financial products.

Apex Partnership Extends an Existing Relationship

This is not the first time Fuji and Seiji team up. In July, Gemini introduced commission-free trading of U.S. stocks for eligible users using Apex Clearing Corporation as their custody and clearing partner. This new deal will make way for event contracts in the new technologies that use crypto.

For Apex, the partnership provides a chance to integrate regulated products for predicting the fate of cryptocurrencies into their brokerage product suite, while leaving individual firms free to build the trading and clearing mechanisms themselves.

For Gemini, the potential advantage is distribution. Rather than having to draw in customers on their own, Gemini could leverage financial brokers that have exposure to Apex’s financial network.

The move comes as regulatory discussion around prediction markets in the U.S. is rapidly gaining speed, as exchanges begin to view prediction markets as a legitimate financial product and not a trading tool.
