Ondo Finance founder Nathan Allman has died unexpectedly at age 32, the company announced on X (formerly Twitter).
The company did not disclose the cause of death. In addition, President Ian De Bode takes over as CEO of Ondo.
Ondo Finance Founder Nathan Allman Has Died
Allman founded Ondo in 2021 after working on the digital assets team at Goldman Sachs. Under his leadership, Ondo brought roughly $3.86 billion in tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on-chain. The assets span treasuries, equities, and commodities, with more than 111,000 holders.
“Nate’s brilliance, humility, and drive shaped every part of what Ondo is today. His belief in the power of technology to create a more open, accessible financial system lives on in everything we build. The impact he had on this industry, and on all of us personally, cannot be overstated,” Ondo Finance wrote.

Amid Nathan Allman’s sudden passing, Ondo has named Ian De Bode, Ondo Finance’s longtime President, as CEO. De Bode joined Ondo as chief strategy officer in March 2024 after running digital assets work at McKinsey. Furthermore, he was promoted to President in November 2025.
De Bode has been leading Ondo’s strategy, product, and day-to-day operations for over two years with the full confidence of the leadership team, the firm said.
“We will continue building what Nate started. That is the most meaningful way we know to honor him,” the post added.
Allman was a leader and pioneer of RWA tokenization. His death is a profound loss for the industry he helped build and the community that grew around his vision.
